Automatically Hide Outdated Events, Exhibitions, and Tours
What’s new?
We’re introducing a feature to let you automatically hide outdated content in your guide.
Note: this applies to all new events, as well as new exhibitions and tours with a Display Period of “Date Range.”
How it works
When you create a new event, exhibition, or tour, you’ll see Expiration options in the Edit window. These options allow you to automatically hide the content once its end date passes, or keep it visible in your guide. Additionally, map locations and lookup numbers are removed for expired content and its associated items. Don’t worry: items included in other events, exhibitions, or tours aren’t altered, and none of your existing content is affected by this update.
Why it helps
With this update, you’ll cut down on the time you spend manually hiding past events, exhibitions, and tours. Plus, when your guide’s content is up-to-date, visitors don’t have to see incorrect information, and can trust your guide as a reliable resource for enhancing their visit.
Highlighting Video Content in Your Guide
A new video icon makes it easy for visitors to find and watch the videos in your guide.
The icon looks like a small video player, and appears automatically when content includes a video. You don’t need to take any extra steps in the CMS to get the icon to appear. Visitors using a screen reader hear the icon announced as, “This content includes video.”
These icons are accessible alternatives to emojis, which might be a tempting way to indicate the presence of audio or video content in your guides, but they present multiple accessibility problems. You can learn more in the Bloomberg Connects style guide.
What's New in the App
- The keypad used to enter Lookup numbers has been replaced by the phone’s default keypad, making for a more familiar and accessible experience (3.53.2).
- Tours that include multiple locations now have clearer maps and directions (3.53.2).
- Tour stops without audio now include a link to the text description (3.53.2).
Bug Fixes in the App
- Improved the loading experience of the list of organizations in the Explore tab (3.53.2).
