Favorite Guides

What's new?

Users can add your guide to their Favorites and, in the future, get instantly notified when new content is added to their favorite guides.

How it works

When users find your guide in the app, they’ll see a new heart button. Tapping the heart button adds your guide to their Favorites—a new category on the Explore page. With the new Favorites category, they’ll never be more than one tap away from accessing your guide.

After a user favorites a guide, the app gives them an opportunity to enable push notifications for new content in their favorite guides. By default, this setting applies to all favorite guides, but users can turn notifications on, or off, for any guide, whether it’s one of their favorites or not.

Why it helps

With Favorites and these upcoming notification tools, we’re excited to offer more ways for visitors to stay engaged with the organizations they’re most interested in. We’re still working on notifications, so visitors won’t receive updates just yet. Once notifications are technically supported, you’ll have the ability to notify people about new content.

Expanding Support for Mobile Browsers, No Download Required

While a digital guide can expand access to art and culture, we know that people can be reluctant to download a new app. That’s why we've been developing a Bloomberg Connects mobile browser experience.

The new Bloomberg Connects web experience:

  • Facilitates a frictionless onsite experience
  • Removes barriers between your visitors and your content
  • Provide a simple pathway to download the app for the most complete experience

After testing with the Intrepid Museum here in New York City, we saw terrific results. The option of a mobile browser experience not only expanded the audience for the Intrepid’s guide, but also resulted in a 12.3% increase in the number of people who downloaded the app during their visit. If you’re in NYC, swing by to check it out in person or click here to see the web version of the Intrepid’s guide from wherever you are.

Following that success, we’re proud to expand the mobile browser experience to a dozen more organizations, with more coming each month. Stay tuned for updates as we continue to offer browser experiences for all of your guides.

  • Based on feedback from our partners, custom poster images no longer appear in the Images grid.

What's New in the App
