Information Security

As part of the Bloomberg Connects platform, Bloomberg shares the responsibility with all participating organizations to keep mission-critical data safe and secure. For this reason, the platform provides robust security features to protect our data.

To ensure the safety and security of all, we adopted the following best practices:

One User, One Password: Staff at our partner organizations are provided with credentials to log in to the Bloomberg Connects CMS. Following best practices in information security, these accounts should be held by individuals and not shared between multiple editors. The Bloomberg team will create more accounts as requested, so please avoid sharing your passwords.

If passwords are currently shared or are known to multiple staff, kindly let Bloomberg know as soon as possible. We can assign you a new password and create new accounts for your colleagues.

In case of staff turnover, please inform Bloomberg immediately, so we can disable access for the former account and enable access for another colleague as needed.

Multi-Factor Authentication: Bloomberg enables Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) on all CMS logins. MFA provides us with a second method of authenticating a person in addition to username and password. We use the Google Authenticator app as this second method. As a CMS user, you must install Google Authenticator on an Android or iOS device and have this device available to log in to the Bloomberg Connects CMS. The device may be yours personally or provided to you by your institution, per the institution's own information security policies.

Strong Passwords: When prompted to set or reset your password, choose a strong and secure password that contains a varied set of characters to avoid being guessed by automated malware.
