Featured Update

Bring Visitors Together with Events

Now you can feature in-person and virtual programming in your guide.

The new Events template makes it easy to add the date, time, and location information your visitors need to catch a performance, attend a lecture series or workshop, or join in on other community gatherings. For more, see Events.

What's New in the CMS

  • The CMS is now available in the following languages: English, Chinese (Traditional), Dutch, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Portuguese, and Spanish. English remains the default language, but if you are interested in using the CMS in another language, just reach out to your partnership manager. We are still doing final reviews for some of these languages, so you can expect to see small changes in the coming weeks. Let us know if you spot any issues in your preferred language.
  • When you're getting started in the CMS, it can be hard to remember which content template to use. Now, empty content pages in the CMS include helpful reminders about the kinds of programming you can create.
  • Simplified media preview players in the Audios and Videos grid.
  • Updated contextual help for image captions provides updated guidance and examples.
  • More consistent save confirmation messages on the Home page.

Bug Fixes in the CMS

  • Improved the experience of selecting a value from long drop-down menus (e.g., the time selector).
  • Addressed feedback that Tour starts and video plays were undercounted in the Usage report. To make sure your reports accurately reflect your guide's usage, you can re-run your reports. To capture all of your Tours usage, re-run reports with a start date of 1/26/24 or later. To capture all of your video plays, re-run reports with a start date of 3/19/24 or later.

What's New in the App

  • A new app splash screen reduces visual noise and gets visitors to your content just a little bit quicker.
  • To support the mapping needs of a wider variety of organizations, the "Floors" label was removed from the Map tab.
  • Ongoing behind-the-scenes updates help your visitors enjoy a faster, smoother experience across the app.
  • Visitors can more easily find guides that interest them on the Explore screen using category filters, search terms, and the map together. For example, someone may want to filter the full list of organizations to see all “Historic Homes and Sites,” then narrow down that list by searching for “New York” or zooming into New York on the map view.
  • Translations have been added in a few places in the app, including Exhibition and Tour dates.
  • Small visual improvements.

Bug Fixes in the App

  • Addressed reports of extra ellipses on truncated text in content description fields. Now, ellipses only appear if the text is truncated to save screen space. Once expanded, the full text appears as expected (app version 3.46.0).
  • Addressed reports that links didn't work in image captions (app version 3.46.0).
  • Updated logic for detecting when someone is interacting with the app via a screen reader to deliver a better experience for those users (app version 3.45.0).
  • Addressed reports that content cards could cover the floor switcher on guide maps (app version 3.45.0).
  • Improved Explore screen map experience when a user's location is unavailable (app version 3.45.0).
  • Addressed reports of a discrepancy in the information presented on the visual and text-based maps. Now, when you tap the Show on Map button to locate an Exhibition, the Exhibition's Items appear in both the visual and text-based map (app version 3.45.0).
