Prepare Your Maps

If your guide will reference a physical space/site, a map is required.

Gather any existing floorplans, schematics, or visitor-friendly maps you have on hand. Even if the only map you can find is an emergency exit route sign, take a photo! The maps in the Connects app follow a distinct style to ensure the best visitor experience. Using the materials you've gathered, you can:

  1. Create your own map using Connects style guidelines
  2. Request a map redesign by Connects designers

Working with Connects designers to create a new map takes 4-6 weeks, depending on the timeliness of feedback and the number of edits needed. We recommend starting early—you can send your maps before you start building your guide. Once you have files ready, send them along to begin the design process.
