Visitor experience engagement
We find that the most effective way to encourage guide usage is through visitor conversations with on-site staff. Your on-site team, whether gallery attendants, docents, security staff, or admissions desk personnel can be incredible ambassadors for the great content you have developed for your Bloomberg Connects guide. A well-informed staff + strategically-place signs and QR codes will lead to increased guide usage.

How to engage your team
The best way to engage your team with your guide is to get them familiar with the content. This can include:
- Sharing what is in your guide: Walk your team through the content that was developed for your organization—Tours, Exhibition highlights, audio commentary, etc.—so they can inform visitors of all the great content they can find.
- Highlighting their content: If anyone on your team suggested content that made it in your guide or recorded an audio stop, make sure they are aware so they can proudly showcase their contribution to visitors, friends, and family!
- Use your guide onsite with the team: If possible, walk the team through the experience of using your guide in your space. This will help them understand where users can find content and how best they can navigate your space with the guide in-hand. It's also a great opportunity to solicit suggestions for other content to add down the road!
Where to engage your visitors
There is no need to create a new touch point with your visitors—simply mention your guide when you are already engaging with them:
- When they are checking in: Add a mention of your guide to the standard "script" that your team uses when a guest first arrives. We understand that you may have a lot to communicate at that moment, so something as simple as, "If you'd like to access our free digital guide, scan here" could work. This is why we recommend having a sign near the front desk.
- If they are asking questions in your space: Your gallery attendants and docents have a wealth of information to share. If guests have questions about something on view, after answering the question, suggesting they check out your guide for additional information could be an effective prompt. We can provide print badges or QR code stickers to add to your existing badges/layards so your staff can have a QR code at the ready.
